Watching Movies with Eyewear

I watch movies from time to time and I usually to do on my PC, as my monitor is quite big. While this was uncommon, let’s say 10 years ago, currently people are often watching movies on their computer instead on TV. This is a trend which has been developing for some time, but are there are other new trends emerging? I believe there are and I think that watching movies with video eyewear will become increasingly popular. There are already many devices capable doing so and while it might be a bit tiring for the eyes, it is really convenient as you can watch a movie while in a bus or while sitting on your balcony. Don’t be surprised if you will see many people using such devices in the next few years.

Mp3 and Displays

Have you ever had a situation that you bought an electronic device and had problems operating it due to difficult to use display options? I bought an Mp3 player with unclear controls and it was very frustrating to me. Instead, if the controls on a device that I own are clear, the smile appears on my face. Since Mp3 player is a small device, there might be not a lot of information displayed on it. Usually bigger Mp3 players will be better here and will not be that tiring for your eyes. If you think that a size of Mp3 player might not satisfy you, consider buying an iPod or PDA. I listen to music a lot on my PDA and actually enjoy it a lot more than any of my previous Mp3 players that I had in the past. Of course the choice is always yours.

Do You Have Trojans in Your MP3 Files?

Did you ever consider that your mp3 files can be actually Trojans? It seems that Adware creators found a way to create fake mp3 files which would actually be Trojans. When you open the fake file it redirects you to a browser page and asks to install a “media player” to help you play the mp3. Of course once you run it, there is no content and I believe there might be a way to spot a fake file looking at the size of it. Generally single song mp3 files should be 1MB-10MB large. If the file you downloaded has for example 50KB you can be sure that it is fake. Having said that, I am sure that the people behind this Tojan can find a way to artificially inflate the size of the file. So far such files were spotted on 360,000 computers.

Comparison of Speaker Systems

There is a quite big variety of speakers on the market, that an average consumer might feel lost. That is why I am going to give a quick overview of different speaker systems:

  • 2.0 is the basic type of speakers – one on the left and one of the right.
  • The 2.1 configuration adds a bass speaker, which enhances the quality of music.
  • Great speakers for games are of the 4.1 variety. This will allow you to hear the sound all around you.
  • 5.1 speakers are for those who plan to watch movies at their computer. The front-center speaker passes all the dialogue, while the other allow you to ehar sounds from different directions.
  • Lastly the 6.1 configuration adds a third surround channel called center-surround. With 6.1 DVD movie formats, those speakers might be useful, but they won’t be as useful as in case of home-theatre setups, due to short distance between speakers.

    What is Really a CPU?

I think that everyone who spends time at a computer heard at some point the term CPU. Even though many people heard about it I am wondering how many actually know what it is and how it operates. First of all, the CPU is an acronym for Central Processing Unit and it is the processor in your computer, which is responsible for processing information. Processors are very complicated and consist of hundreds of millions of transistors. They need to be able to receive data, transform it and send the data to an appropriate place such as hard drive, monitor or even back to the CPU. As you can see, the CPU is very complicated and maybe next time you go shopping for computer components you will understand why this is often the most expensive part.

    Accessibility of WiFi

The word WiFi stands for Wireless Fidelity. Strange, isn’t it? Does not sound very serious, but there is powerful technology behind WiFi. WiFi is basically the wireless internet access that you can get in many places around United States as well as also outside of the US. I do not know what the motivation is behind those who enable free internet in many public places (like airports or city councils), but I suppose that this project is somehow government funded. Anyway, it is a very convenient way for those who have a laptop and want to access the internet in many places while travelling for example. Of course nobody probably would consider it to be the only source of internet for him, but I see many people using WiFi in public places. If you would like to know where are the places to use WiFi in the US, check locations of WiFi locations on http://www.wififreespot.com/.

    External Hard Drives Necessary

If you use your computer a lot and are smart enough to back up your important data from time to time, you know that external hard drives are very important. Gone are the times were floppy discs or even CDs were enough to back up everything. Today we gather so much information on our computers that such small containers of megabytes are no longer sufficient. I predict that in the future there will be even bigger and bigger need for external hard drives. Looking at my computer and the changes that took place in it for the last few years, I see that it contains more information that it did ever before. So, producers of external hard drives. Grip your chances and start already manufacturing the items because we will be needing more and more of them soon. Maybe even sooner than you think.

    Robots our Friends?

Robots are something which reminds us of sci-fi movies where robots are usually the bad guys trying to destroy humanity. I don’t think this will happen, as robots do not have free will, but on the other hand they might be able to mimic human behavior. This ability could potentially make them good friends if they were programmed properly. There are already robots being made which spend time with children and although they do not speak a lot, children often treat them as living beings. There is some potential for robots becoming our companions, and while they will never replace humans they could become alternatives to pets such as cats or even dogs. Are you ready to replace your cat? Probably not, but we have to be open to changes.

    Battery Life in Your PDA

If you have a PDA known also as Pocket PC, then you know how battery dependant you are. You need to charge your small PDA on a regular basis and if you forget for some reason to charge it before going on a trip for a few hours, you might find yourself in a trouble. As there are many models of PDAs available on the market, it is essential for you to choose the one that will be able to be charged for as many hours as possible. I do not know how about you, but there is nothing worse for me to be in the middle of ten forest, far away from home, with my PDA watching as its batteries decrease in power rapidly. I do not wish anybody to be in a situation like that and every time I intend to go on a trip with my PDA I make sure that it is properly charged.

    The Power of Speakers

Do you like music the way I love it? I listen to a lot of music. And I like it very loud. One of the things that was bothering me recently was the quality of the speakers that I am currently having at home. For me the quality of sound is very important. The better it is, the bigger satisfaction I have from listening to music. Usually the better the speakers, the more money they are going to cost and the more space they are going to cost. If this is not a problem for you and you value the quality of the sound emanating from your speakers, then you might start thinking about buying better speakers. I still have not made up my mind yet. However, I am thinking about it a lot. I still wonder if I am going to have enough space for new, bigger speakers in my somewhat crowded and small room. I hope to make up my mind soon so that I do not have to think about it anymore.
